POSITION SUMMARY: To provide support to the Executive Director of Educational Services and Director of Special Services in developing and maintaining the best possible education programs for Wickenburg Unified School District.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversees all Medicaid billing for the Special Education Department;
- Monitors and inputs grant budgets in Visions Accounting System and ADE Grants Management;
- Organizes purchases for department and supports schools with special purchases;
- Arranges travel for groups and individuals;
- Maintains files for all district SpEd, Title, ELL, and Gifted programs;
- Reviews incoming records; and readies inactive files for the process;
- Assists with maintaining current district special education student database;
- Handles any requests from other agencies/schools for special education student records;
- Keeps current with the ever changing special education & Title rules and regulations;
- Serves as liaison with parents/staff/attorneys regarding procedural matters and legal requirements;
- Maintains a positive working relationship with district staff, school staff, students, parents and community;
- Compares information or data with other records for verification;
- Coordinates schedules;
- Duplicates, photocopies, and prints school system forms and reports;
- Maintains records required by policy, regulation, law, or good practice;
- Complies with all rules, regulations and policies of the Governing Board.
- Other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
- Ability to pass a background check and maintain a current Fingerprint Clearance Card.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, filing, and operation of common office equipment;
- Three to five years successful experience as an administrative secretary preferred;

- Computer Skills – Demonstrated competency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing.
- Communication Skills – Ability to read and interpret general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals. Ability to write general correspondence and speak effectively with others.
- Math Ability – Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability – Ability to interpret assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms. Ability to apply reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee occasionally will stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Employee will frequently interact with the public and other staff members. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
