We are creating excelling schools where there is a laser-like focus on the Essential Elements of Instruction and moving each student to the next academic level.

 

POSITION SUMMARY: To provide effective tutoring services for identified students who are struggling in specific academic area of need and to help them attain a higher level of achievement through before school, afterschool, intersession, or summer school setting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Identifies the most at-risk group of students and ranks them in order of their need for tutoring;
  • Plans and implements activity/lesson plans that are in accordance with the Arizona State Academic Standards under the supervision of the WHS teachers;
  • Lessons specific to the needs of the students with high levels of student engagement opportunities;
  • Works cooperatively with the school staff;
  • Keeps appropriate documentation for the 21st CCLC grant including time and attendance sheets
  • Attends professional development opportunities when requested by the Principal and/or supervisor;
  • Encourages student involvement;
  • Develops on-going communication with program supervisor regarding student progress and challenges;
  • Adheres to all policies, rules and regulations as adopted by the Governing Board and outlined by the administration;
  • Adheres to all state and federal guidelines;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • Must maintain passing grades in all classes;
  • Must be 16 years or older, legally able to work in Arizona and in pre-calculus or above in math;

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Current Wickenburg USD student in pre-calculus or above in math

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • To perform the job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Computer Skills – Demonstrated competency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing.
  • Communication Skills – Ability to read and interpret general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals.  Ability to write general correspondence and speak effectively with others.
  • Math Ability – Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability – Ability to interpret assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms.  Ability to apply reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
